Community Creek Sweep

We are stepping it up a bit from the previous sweeps and aren’t just holding another Community Creek Sweep at Arthur K Draut Park in St Matthews- no, we are also collecting electronic gadgets in partnership with EcoCell!! We hope to raise awareness that electronics don’t belong into landfills here in Kentucky! Many of our 120 Counties in our beautiful Bluegrass State don’t even offer recycling programs for electronics. We want to change this to protect the health of fellow citizens across our state! Please come out and join, bring old tablets, handheld devices and cell phones you no longer needs , chargers, cables,… to be reused, repurposed or recycled through EcoCell!! With the proceeds you will help endangered species as well will help us pass our bill to keep citizens and the environment safer from chemicals that leach out of electronic waste disposed in dumps across our state!
If you come to our sweep, please Park in the parking lot of the park and meet there at 1pm!
We will have garbage bags for you but would love it if you would bring your own gloves!
Please be prepared with a reusable water bottle to hydrate, bring clothing (e.g. boots/long sleeves / era. ) appropriate for the activity and be cautious of hazards such a glass or needles , …
This event is family friendly and we ask parents to please supervise your children at all times around Beargrass Creek and with waste that’s picked up.
We can’t wait to see you to pitch in and another awesome event to make a difference for our community and the environment!
Hope to see you all there!
