E-Waste (I-Devices) Contains Toxic Chemicals

Remember: One cell phone, if thrown away, can pollute 40,000 gallons of ground water.

We have our permanent I-Device Collection box at North Oldham Middle School in Goshen! Please drop off any tablets, cell phones, laptops, devices you no longer need, chargers and cables included. All will be safely recycled though our partnership program with EcoCell.

You will help keep our Kentucky waterways protected and fellow citizens safe if you keep those devices and also e-waste out of our local landfills.

Kentucky is one of the last states without any regulation addressing e-waste in landfills. It is completely legal to drop any electronic device into your garbage. In doing so, you take the chance of harmful chemicals leaching into our soil and groundwater, affecting our health in negative ways. E-waste contains harmful chemicals that are proven to cause Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Let's be smart, Kentucky- Let's precent e-scrap and I-devices like cell phones and gadgets from ending up in our local dumps.

Remember: One cell phone, if thrown away, can pollute 40,000 gallons of ground water.
